TriestEspresso Expo is on the calendar again, and bursting with events. This leading business to business trade fair dedicated exclusively to coffee is scheduled from 25 to 27 October 2012. Event organisers are Aries – Special Agency of the Trieste Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Assocaffè Trieste. The Expo's programme is richer than ever: opportunities for learning and training, cultural events, occasions to relax, as well as “all’aroma di caffè” trails in the city itself form part of the rich programme for the upcoming fair, which will again be extending a welcome to leading international names from the espresso industry.

Over 200 exhibitors will be present, representing all sector categories, whether manufacturers of coffee machines, coffee-roasting equipment, tools, coffee cups and packaging, green and roasted coffee producers, or merchandising and services. A truly international meeting point, with visitors expected from 85 countries, TriestEspresso is first and foremost an event that highlights the quality of the espresso and Made in Italy products, and exhibitors include the leading names that symbolise Italian quality. This year too, the 6th edition, is expected to be a sell-out, with participants from important countries such as those forming the main pillars of the international market - whether in terms of volume or of quality - including Vietnam, India, Indonesia and Guatemala.

The opening session will in fact be dedicated to this aspect of the coffee industry: visitors will be taken on a journey through coffee cultivation and green coffee, to consider the dynamics of these markets and the changes unfolding, markets on which the future - and price - of our cup of coffee depend.

From the first link in the chain to the last TriestEspresso will be hosting the barista competitions, where those whose hands are entrusted with the end product of this long industry chain have a chance to show off their skills. The baristas will go head to head, with eventual election of the best of the 2nd Mitteleuropean Barista Open and best of the semi-finals of the Italian Baristi Caffetteria Championships.

In addition, a series of training events will be on offer - these are being arranged through collaboration with the Speciality Coffee Association Europe (SCAE), which for the first time is bringing certified workshops to Trieste. Topics to be addressed at the seminars include practical advice on opening a coffee shop, courses on tasting, latte art and green coffee. Other items on the agenda include celebration of the Cimbali Group centenary, trails in the historic centre of the city, a photo exhibition on Guatemala with tasting of coffee, rum and cocoa, as well as a digital art competition.

Preregistration for visitors is already open, and further programme details as well as practical travel information can be found on the site www.triestespresso.it. Lufthansa is the official carrier for the event, and again this year will be offering favourable terms to TriestEspresso visitors.
